Glen Lakes Book Club Hosts Bingo Fundraiser for Local Schools

October 27, 2023

The Glen Lakes Book Club , a group of residents who share a passion for reading and community service, recently hosted a bingo fundraiser at the Glen Lakes Golf & Country Club. The event was a huge success, attracting more than 150 participants and raising $1,200 for two local schools: Winding Waters School K-8th Grade and Spring Hill Elementary School.

The bingo fundraiser was organized by the Book Club’s president, Lois Oberlander, who planned the event details, secured the prizes, and coordinated with the club staff and volunteers. The participants enjoyed a fun-filled evening of bingo games, refreshments, and socializing.

The Book Club chose to donate the proceeds of the fundraiser to Winding Waters School K-8th Grade and Spring Hill Elementary School because of their commitment to providing quality education and enrichment programs for their students. The schools will use the funds to support various projects and initiatives, such as purchasing books and supplies, enhancing technology and STEM resources, sponsoring field trips and extracurricular activities, and more.

The Glen Lakes Book Club is proud to support the local community and promote literacy and learning among children. The club plans to host more bingo fundraisers in the future, as well as other events and activities that foster a love of reading and golfing.
